Advantages of Ultrasound Scan:

  • Cost-Effective: Generally less expensive than other imaging modalities like CT or MRI.

Ultrasound technology can be used to examine many different parts of the body.

Types of Ultrasound scan available at our diagnostic centre:

Abdominal & Pelvis Ultrasound

Purpose: Evaluate abdominal and pelvis organs such as the liver, uninary bladder, pancreas, spleen, ovaries, kidneys, intestine, bowel loops, prostate, etc.
Uses: Diagnose conditions like liver disease, gallstones, kidney stones, ureters, abdominal pain, monitor pregnancy, assess gynecological conditions,
diagnose pelvic pain and evaluate reproductive organs.

Obstetric Ultrasound

Purpose: Monitor the development and health of a fetus during pregnancy. Fetal doppler to monitor fetal heart rate.
Uses: Confirm pregnancy, assess fetal growth, detect fetal heart rate, abnormalities and determine the due date.

Transvaginal Ultrasound

Purpose: Provide a closer view of the pelvic organs by inserting the ultrasound probe into the vagina.
Uses: Evaluate early pregnancy, diagnose gynecological conditions and assess pelvic pain.

Doppler Ultrasound

Purpose: Measure and visualize blood flow in the veins and arteries.
Uses: Detect blood clots, assess blood flow issues and evaluate vascular conditions.

Musculoskeletal Ultrasound

Purpose: Examine muscles, tendons, ligaments, shoulder, knee and ankle joints.
Uses: Diagnose injuries, assess inflammation and guide joint injections.

Thyroid Ultrasound

Purpose: Visualize the thyroid gland to identify nodules, cysts or other abnormalities.
Uses: Diagnose thyroid disorders, monitor known conditions and guide biopsies.

Paediatric Ultrasound

Purpose: Evaluate a child’s organs and tissues for various conditions.
Uses: Assess congenital abnormalities, monitor growth and diagnose pediatric conditions.

Soft Tissue Ultrasound

Purpose: Specifically designed to assess soft tissues, including muscles, tendons and ligaments.
Uses: Diagnose soft tissue injuries, detect inflammation, guide interventions such as injections and evaluate masses or lumps in soft tissues.

Breast Ultrasound

Purpose: Examine breast tissue to identify and evaluate abnormalities.
Uses: Detect cysts or tumors, differentiate between solid and fluid-filled masses, guide biopsies, monitor known conditions and investigate breast pain or tenderness.

Follicular Study Ultrasound

Purpose: Monitor and evaluate ovarian follicle development during the menstrual cycle.
Uses: Track ovulation, assess ovarian function, guide fertility treatments, monitor response to medications and detect ovarian abnormalities.

Scrotum and Testis Doppler Ultrasound

Purpose: To assess blood flow, evaluate scrotal pain and diagnose testicular conditions.
Uses: Diagnose varicocele, detect testicular torsion, evaluate testicular tumors and assess Epididymitis and Orchitis.

Ultrasound-Guided Procedure (FNAC/Pleural Tapping)

Purpose: Ultrasound-guided procedures like Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology (FNAC) and pleural tapping use real-time imaging to accurately locate and target abnormal tissues or fluid collections for sampling.
Uses: FNAC is used to obtain tissue samples for diagnosing tumors or other abnormalities, while pleural tapping is used to remove excess fluid from the pleural space to relieve symptoms and analyze the fluid for diagnostic purposes.

Renal Doppler Ultrasound

Purpose: Renal Doppler ultrasound is used to assess blood flow in the kidneys and renal arteries.
Uses: It is employed to diagnose conditions such as renal artery stenosis, evaluate kidney transplant function and investigate causes of hypertension or unexplained kidney dysfunction.

Arterial and Venous Doppler Ultrasound

Purpose:Arterial and Venous Doppler ultrasound is used to evaluate blood flow in the arteries and veins, to detect abnormalities such as clots or venous insufficiency.
Uses:To examine arteries (blood vessels that carry oxygen rich blood from your heart and lungs to your body) and veins (blood vessels that carry blood from your body back to your heart and lungs to get more oxygen).

Carotid and Vertebral doppler Ultrasound

Purpose: Carotid Doppler ultrasound is used can disclose a variety of underlying cardiovascular abnormalities
Uses: It is employed to evaluate the risk of stroke, diagnose carotid artery disease and monitor patients with a history of cardiovascular events.

Fibroscan Ultrasound

Purpose: Fibroscan is used to measure liver stiffness to assess the degree of liver fibrosis or scarring.
Uses: It is employed to diagnose and monitor liver conditions such as chronic hepatitis, cirrhosis and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and to evaluate the effectiveness of treatments.
