Types of Laboratory Tests Available at Our Diagnostic Centre

Common Tests (Regular tests)

Purpose: Common tests to asses health condition on regular basis.
Common types of tests:

  • Diabetes test
  • Thyroid test
  • Renal function test
  • Vitamin D & B12 tests
  • Hormone tests : FSH, LH, Prolactin, Testosterone, AMH, SHBG
  • Dengue test (Card / Elisa method)
  • HIV, HBsAg, VDRL
  • Typhido / Widal test

Urine Tests

Purpose: Examine the composition of urine to diagnose and monitor urinary tract infections, kidney conditions, and metabolic disorders.
Common types of tests:

  • Urinalysis: Checks for abnormalities such as protein, glucose or blood in the urine.
  • Urine Culture: Identifies bacteria causing urinary tract infections and determines appropriate antibiotics.
Microbiological Tests

Purpose: Detects and identifies microorganisms such as bacteria, viruses, and fungi that cause infections.
Common types of tests:

  • Culture and Sensitivity Testing: Grows microorganisms from a sample and tests their sensitivity to various antibiotics.
  • Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR): Detects specific genetic material from pathogens for precise diagnosis.
Biochemical Tests

Purpose: Analyse chemical processes and substances in the body to diagnose and monitor diseases.
Common types of tests:

  • Thyroid Function Tests: Measures thyroid hormones to assess thyroid health and diagnose disorders like hypothyroidism or hyperthyroidism.
  • Haemoglobin A1c: Monitors long-term blood glucose levels to manage diabetes.
Immunology Tests

Purpose: Evaluate immune system function and diagnose autoimmune diseases and allergies.
Common types of tests:

  • Antibody Testing: Detects antibodies against specific pathogens or self-antigens.
